And Now We Attempt to Load A Photo

Jaysus. Pain in keister, this is.

Seventeen steps. Well, almost. Yes, I am exaggerating, but it isn't so simplistic to type /load /publish on an unfamiliar tablet. Also, somebody needs to come and wash these windows.

And now to hit "Publish" then check it out on a laptop screen. Rrrrrroll that beautiful bean footage....

Yet another method to learn.

This should get interesting. I am not bringing a laptop this time to Venice and will write from my new tablet. It doesn't have the capability of using the Blogger app so it will be an extra step to get onto a browser and website from there. Plus the keyboard is something I am not quite used to, sizewise. Blog posts may end up being only pictures if I get frustrated with navigation.

Bear with me.

So... about that blogging...

To those of you waiting on blog posts, it isn't going to happen. I am exhausted at the end of each day, and I value the time I am spending with my family (and especially with my husband) too much to worry about writing and editing nightly.

This vacation is about making some important memories with my father, for us to remember because we know he is incapable, and we know he won't be able to make journeys anymore. To hear him the next day bring something up from the day before is a joy.

Hold tight to those you love because they can be lost to you so easily, even as they are still physically here.

We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary yesterday. It isn't until July but we are here now so why not?

Peace

Testing the Settings

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Checking out the feature to post using email from the phone. So fancy, all this technology.

But will a photo post too?

I guess so.

Ta ta for now.

So Let Me Catch You Up

My older travel blog is here:

https://thatstrangewoman.blogspot.com

The last entries on that site are hard for me to read now. There was a lot of loss in a short amount of time to deal with: my beloved sister in law Lisa, and my sweet Mamma of Venezia. I was so deeply unhappy in my own world on a number of levels and refused to acknowledge it.

I am so much better now. Life 2.0, you could say.

Hint: a lot of the credit goes to that guy I met on the ladder in that penultimate post. For those that don't know (and that would be impossible if you haven't met me in person or online) - surprise -  I married him. Three years to the day of meeting him.

And that's partly why I changed the name of the blog...I am no longer Strange. Legally anyway. But why Boodja?

It was my nickname as a toddlerchild. We had a chicken and I would follow her around imitating her vocalizings: boodja boodja boodja. It became a name for both of us. When I was 18 I got it as a personalized license plate for my 65 Plymouth Belvedere, re-christening her the Boodja-Mobile.

So here we are on the eve of another trip. I haven't been to Italy since November of 2014. This is the longest time away from my beautiful city of Venice since I started going there in 2001. She misses me. We are hours away from reuniting.

I just need to get though this day and get everyone on the plane tomorrow. The challenge level of getting us there is minimal compared to the logistics of getting to this point, and we've weathered it thus far.

Gotta finish my to do list and packing.

I am Boodja, Hear Me Bitch

Yep.

More to follow, for certain.
